My boyfriend Diego Sanchez (Spain) is a jockey here in the US. We were recently turned on to O.N.E. by our trainers at LifeTime Fitness. Being a jockey, he has to maintain a low weight while trying to work out and keep hydrated. We have been hooked since and we love the cool refreshing taste that quenches the thirst without all of other additives that regular sports drinks contain. He gets much better results and even grabs one from me in-between the races, especially with this hot weather that we have been having. I’m training for the Chicago marathon and before my training runs, I put one in the freezer, then pour the slushy O.N.E. in a bowl with fresh raspberries and some mint!

O.N.E. is now carried at Vitamin Shoppe!

I had to tell you that I took my daughter to the Vitamin Shoppe last night and while we were there she wanted something to drink. The only thing I could find that she could have besides water was coconut water (ONE to be exact). She literally chugged the entire thing and asked me to buy her some more to take to school. There were only 2 left and so I bought them and then on the way home she proceeded to ask if she could have another one at home.
Apparently they have a good thing there if a 6 year old is that interested in it! I am probably going to go back and get a case since it is SO much healthier than juice.
Best,

Elena

Bill, from Georgetown, TX provides our latest testimonial!

"I wanted to report my very positive experience with your O.N.E. product. I had read about your product in a May issue of Time magazine. My girlfriend has fibro-myalgia and I thought it might help her so I bought six of your 8.5 ounce containers and gave her four of them. Last Friday morning I developed an ocular migraine and after 10 minutes or so decided to try one. After two gulps my migraine totally disappeared. Needless to say I was amazed and have been relating my experience with all my family and friends. Thanks so much!!"

And thank YOU, Bill, for taking the time to let us know about this great experience!

Cool Facts on Coconut Water

'It's a natural isotonic beverage, with the same level of electrolytic balance as we have in our blood. It's the fluid of life, so to speak.'

During the Pacific War of 1941-45, both sides in the conflict regularly used coconut water - siphoned directly from the nut - to give emergency plasma transfusions to wounded soldiers..

Most coconut water is still consumed fresh in tropical coastal areas - once exposed to air, the liquid rapidly loses most of its organoleptic and nutritional characteristics, and begins to ferment.

Coconut Water is More Nutritious than whole milk - Less fat and NO cholesterol!

Coconut Water is Better than processed baby milk- It contains lauric acid, which is present in human mother's milk

Coconut water is naturally sterile -- Water permeates though the filtering husk!

Coconut water is a universal donor-- Its identical to human blood plasma

Coconut Water is a Natural Isotonic Beverage - The same level we have in our blood.

Coconut water has saved lives in 3rd world countries thru Coconut IV.

Coconut water is the very stuff of Nature, biologically Pure, full of Natural Sugars, Salts, and Vitamins to ward off fatigue... and is the next wave of energy drinks BUT natural!', according to Mortin Satin, Chief of the United Nation's Food & Agriculture Organization.

Coconut water contains more potassium (at about 294 mg) than most sports drinks (117 mg) and most energy drinks..

Coconut water has less sodium (25mg) where sports drinks have around 41mg and energy drinks have about 200mg!

Coconut water has 5mg of Natural Sugars where sports and energy drinks range from 10-25mg of Altered Sugars.

Coconut water is very high in Chloride at 118mg; compared to sports drinks at about 39mg.

Data is based on a 100ml drink

Coconut Water as a Hangover Cure?

Hello friends,

Apologies for not posting more. We are going to start having blog postings much more regularly, including some surprises and videos!

We'd like to share this blog with you today, written by Lizzi Loraine, who recommends O.N.E. Coconut Water.

Reprinted from: http://www.coconut-water-products.com/2009/08/can-coconut-water-help-cure-a-hangover/

Coconut water is the liquid found inside young green coconuts and differs from coconut milk. As the coconut matures, this liquid gets absorbed into the nut’s flesh. Coconut water is a popular drink in tropical regions, such as Tropical Asia and Trinidad and Tobago. It is found and sold in Central America on strategic highway stops and beaches. In this region coconut water is called “agua de pipa.”

The various minerals and healthy bacterial present in coconut water enable our body to recover from rigorous exercise, making this drink far superior to other sports drinks. Fresh cocunut water also helps in digestion, optimizes muscle performance, boosts our immune system and blood circulation, besides helping maintain body temperature.

Coconut water: good remedy for dehydration

Dehydration is quite common after you have partied all night or drank too much. Since alcohol is a diuretic, i.e. something that makes you urinate, you need to hydrate your body through the consumption of a lot of fluids. Coconut water is one of the most effective ways of rehydrating the body. Consumption of a large quantity of alcohol in a dehydrated state results in a hangover. The main symptoms of a hangover are headache, nausea and vomiting. And the best remedy is to consume liquids with electrolytes.

Too much alcohol also has a negative impact on several of your body parts. Your kidneys, liver, stomach and small intestines fall prey to the adverse impact of alcohol and result in problems such as electrolyte imbalances, gastrointestinal disturbances, disruption of sleep, among other things. The need to quickly restore the body to optimal hydration is therefore irrefutable.

Coconut water, although a little known cure for hangovers, has several other beneficial properties:

* it is a natural isotonic beverage because of the significant amount of electrolytes it contains

* improves our digestive system

* encourages bowel movement

* helps in prevention of bacterial, viral and fungal infections

* keeps the body cool while maintaining adequate temperature

* aids in healthy functioning of the thyroid

* has a cleansing effect on the whole endocrine system

* clears your complexion

* is even safe for infants

Lizzi Loraine is a writer and writes for health magazines. She suggests O.N.E.™ Coconut Water for hangover cure. It has no additives and has ability to hydrate you body.

Coconut Water Takes On The World

Coconut water takes on the world
By Samantha Pearson

Published: November 4 2009

From cosmetics to rope and car seat covers, the diverse uses of coconut and its husk have made the fruit an indispensable commodity in the tropics.

But it was only this year, when Madonna was rumoured to be knocking back coconut water on tour, that the world suddenly woke up to the fruit’s investment potential.

Marketed as a healthy sports drink, coconut water has found an enthusiastic customer base in the US – and plenty of celebrities willing to endorse it.

Technological advances have also made it possible to transport the water large distances without having to add preservatives.

Pepsi made the first move in August when it bought Amacoco, Brazil’s largest maker of packaged coconut water drinks. Coca-Cola then bought a minority stake in Zico, the Californian coconut water producer, in September, followed three weeks later by Pepsi Bottling Group’s investment in One Natural Experience, a company set up by a Brazilian entrepreneur in the US.

Beverage Marketing, a New York-based research and consulting firm, expects coconut water sales to almost double to $35m this year, while revenue from other drinks such as bottled water continues to fall.

Bumping along the dirt track to his coconut farm near Rio de Janeiro, dodging turkeys and roaming dogs, Fábio Lewin says he has received supply enquiries mainly from Portugal, Germany and the US.

But his company, Coco Legal, is struggling to meet demand given that it employs only 14 people.

“Maybe our website is the problem; it makes us look bigger than we are,” he says, laughing.

Brazil’s coconut water producers have been used to living in the shadow of Amacoco, which dominates the sector, but they have now become potential targets of multinational drinks companies.

Fábio was in his early 20s in 2002 when he founded Coco Legal. ‘When I told my dad I was dropping out [of university], he almost had a heart attack,’ says Fábio. But his father soon quit his engineer job with the government and joined the company. Production has almost doubled every year since and is expected to exceed 20m litres a month by the end of 2009.

One’s chief executive, Rodrigo Veloso, says he is convinced coconut water will become a multi-billion dollar global industry in the next 10 years and some analysts think it could match sales of niche drinks such as cranberry juice, which Ocean Spray estimates at about $2.3bn.

“It hits a couple of sweet spots in terms of US consumer trends,” explains John Sicher, editor of Beverage Digest in the US. “It’s natural, relatively low in calories and provides hydration.”

Others are more sceptical and dismiss international interest in coconut water as a celebrity-inspired fad. Harry Balzer, vice-president of the NPD research group, says: “We love trying new things. But I’ve been down this path before. Lots of ‘healthy’ things have come on the market only to disappear again.”

Dr Lilian Cheung, from the Harvard School of Public Health, also questions the medical benefits.

The claims that coconut water could lower cancer risks and boost the immune system are “quantum leaps from solid scientific evidence”, she says, as there has been no research.

Back in Brazil, where One says sales of coconut water have now exceeded those of orange juice, Fábio is still confident he will have to hire more people from the nearby village, even if Madonna does find something else to keep up her energy levels on the dance floor.

Take a look at what you can find in coconut water and what benefits coconut water can have for you.

fat free - what’s not to love?

Coconuts have long been used for natural health and hydration
Coconut water is 99% fat free, has a low percentage of sugar and is low in carbohydrates. It also can help to keep your body cool. This is important if you are someone who spends a lot of time working outdoors in hot or humid climates such as those found in tropic, sub tropic, desert and even plains areas where summer temperatures can reach close too or top 100° F.

Revitalize and rehydrate

It can also re-hydrate your body as well as carry nutrients and oxygen to your body’s cells. If you exercise consider replacing your after work out drink with coconut water, see if you notice a difference in how fast your body feels refreshed, and replenished. There are other health benefits as well it raises or increases your metabolic rate which helps you to lose weight naturally without having to go on restricting diets or take dangerous pills to help lose weight.

It can help to increase the functionality of your immune system and help to detoxify the body. It can also assist your immune system by helping to fight viruses.
Need a natural cleanse?

Looking for a natural way to cleanse your digestive tract to promote overall body health, try coconut water and see its cleansing and digestive effects. You can also help to control diabetes with coconut water, fight the flu, herpes and some studies show that it can even have a positive effect in the fight against AIDS. You can treat kidney stones, boost poor circulation and even help to remove urethral stones.

Minerals, vitamins and lauric acid

The benefits of coconut water go further it contains more potassium, less sodium, less sugar and more chloride then both energy and sports drinks making it better for you and more effective. It contains the same Lauric acid that is found is mother’s milk making it great even for small babies and children. It contains identical properties to human blood plasma and contains the same isotonic levels as human blood. Many cultures believe it is a life giving and sustaining fluid and with benefits like this and centuries of proof who can blame them.

Get a new lease on life

If you are looking for something that is going to give you a new lease on life when it comes to your health, looking for something that can help your body function better and help you to feel and look younger than consider adding coconut water to your daily routine. It contains everything necessary for life everything from being able to replenish the body’s depleted stores of nutrients to keeping your body cool on hot days. There is little that this water cannot do.

Coconut Water - "Nature's Gatorade"

Coconuts May Be Nature’s Gatorade Dietician: ‘With the Coconut Water, We Actually Have a Mix of Electrolytes’

August 16, 2009 ·

The word coconut probably brings to mind images of tropical beaches and palm trees. But for hundreds of years the coconut has been a dietary staple for cultures all over the globe.

The coconut has been much maligned in the past for its fat content, but as new information has come out regarding the health benefits of coconuts, products from this functional food have started invading shelves across America.

The coconut is a member of the palm tree family. It’s not a fruit, though it can be found in the produce section — and, despite its name, a coconut is not a tree nut.

Because of that, coconut products are safe for those with tree nut allergies.

The coconut also provides different products at different stages of its gestation.

Young baby coconuts look like green water balloons and are filled with water. Coconut water, unlike coconut milk, contains no fat and more potassium than a banana.

The health benefits of coconut water have been attracting the most attention.

“With the coconut water, we actually have a mix of electrolytes,” says Ashley Koff, a registered dietician. “I like to call coconut water ‘nature’s Gatorade.’”

The electrolytes, with help from the potassium, help the body absorb water better.

//
“It actually goes straight into our blood stream,” Koff says, “so it’s extremely hydrating.”

Mature coconuts are the kind most consumers are familiar with. They have a hard, hairy shell. They contain milk and oil — and all the fat and protein that have turned people off for years.

“For a long time, when we were hearing about saturated fat, coconut oil was off limits,” says Koff. “But interestingly, the type of fat in here is medium chain fatty acids. And that is a type of fatty acid that goes right through our digestive system, so it’s actually beneficial for us there.”

Because coconut oil has such a higher burn point, higher than olive oil, it is great for cooking.

Though coconuts can be a healthier option, Koff warns, “We do have to be conscious of things like sugar and fat content.”

Coconut water, though it does have sugar, has significantly less sugar than most fruit juices. An 11 oz. container of coconut water contains 15 grams of sugar, but Koff says that’s about as much as in 4 oz. of apple juice.

A registered dietician says coconut water can be thought of as nature’s Gatorade because of “a mix of electrolytes.” Coconuts also have high sugar and fat content, which has scared off some consumers.
(Foodcollection/Getty Images)

Coconut products are all over the shelves at the grocery store these days. You can buy raw coconut, coconut water, oil, even yogurt and ice cream.

// Coconut milk can be a good alternative for people with dairy allergies.
When buying a raw coconut, check how soft the shell is and give it a good shake. You should hear liquid inside.

MY 21 DAY CLEANSING JOURNEY ON O.N.E. COCONUT WATER- Week 3

MY 21 DAY CLEANSING JOURNEY ON O.N.E. COCONUT WATER
WEEK 3
(not for the faint at heart)

As I finish this cleanse on the first day of summer, I contemplate what has really propelled me to be able to sustain myself for 3 weeks on only coconut water (from O.N.E.) and stevia water. I realized that whenever I am coming up to my next quarterly cleanse, I write down in my Day Planner when I plan to begin. By doing that, I create a mindset that knows it will happen and when. It doesn't hurt that I'm self-motivated and have tremendous will power. For those who don't, the best thing to do is start slowly and build up to where it becomes easy for you. I started with only a 1 day a week fast 5 years ago and I still do that year round. Sometimes, I am amazed at my energy level and find that I am doing things, you wouldn't expect me to be able to, like moving my stove and fridge so I can clean behind them (and they sure needed it!).

An important point I would like to make, is that coconut water does have natural sugar and as such, it is a good idea to rinse your mouth out with water so as not to allow the sugars to build up in your teeth and gums. You can also have some stevia water (since it isn't sugar and it happens to be anti-bacterial). The coconut water is highly beneficial to keeping your mineral intake up while you are cleansing/fasting, but you do not want to incur any problems with your gums or teeth.

I find that when I come closer to the end of my cleanse and even on the last day, I am not ready to start eating food again. When I do eat, my body has to readjust itself and the shift needs to be slow and easy.
I will post a follow up blog, in a week to share with you my journey back to eating/processing/digesting food.

Some other things I'd like to share with you about fasting. It does not cure disease, rather it allows the body to become 100% efficient at healing itself. Since the body is not overburdened by food, the internal organs have a chance to rest and rehabilitate. The enhancement of the vital internal power, allows the body to flush out toxic poisons and waste that have been stored in the body for years. Fasting has been done since the dawn of time, if you peruse the Bible or any other holy books, prophets have fasted for spiritual enlightenment and a closer connection with the Divine.

I'd like to reiterate and also add some other benefits to fasting/cleansing. You will find that it hones and sharpens your mental faculties. It improves the organs involved in mastication, digestion, assimilation and elimination of food. The liver, which is typically the most abused organ, has a chance to rehabilitate, gain vitality and function more efficiently after you finish your fast. All of the senses become more keen and raised to a higher level both during and after the fast. Your circulation will improve and endurance stamina and strength are increased. The mind becomes more alert and receptive to living a sensible healthy lifestyle and it can be so powerful that it can take control over your body (mind over matter). In doing so, it becomes the master (if you keep with a program that achieves the ultimate health) and you can maintain this for the rest of your life.

Fasting instills personal confidence.
Fasting gives a person a positive mental attitude.
Fasting promotes tranquility of mind and a “glow” of well-being that nothing else can offer.
Fasting renovates, revives and purifies every one of the trillions of cells that make up the body (and every 7 years all your cells are completely re-newed, so imagine what you can achieve, especially in the realm of anti-aging).
FASTING IS THE HIGH ROAD TO INTERNAL PURITY!

Again, I want to thank the O.N.E. company, for their support in giving me the platform to share my experiences with you. I am very happy to have met the O.N.E. family personally and share a passion for their wonderful products (they are wonderful people. too!). I hope you will take the time to try their coconut water, as well as, their other products.

With Love and Gratitude,

Chef Mindy aka Ageless Raw Beautytm
